The Senior Manager of Business Development will be responsible for: 1) Selling large-scale partnerships for the Denver Broncos and additional business interests of SMC & PDB Sports that incorporate all marketing and team assets and are consistent with department’s strategic short and long term revenue maximization strategies, including development of new assets; and 2) Collaborate on account maximization and retention on new and assigned partnership accounts along with Broncos Activation team.

 

Sales assets include, but are not limited to: Branding Elements, Television, Radio, Print, Digital Assets, Marketing Platforms, Entitlements, Corporate Hospitality and Intellectual Property and Promotional rights.

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a passion for sales, an understanding of business-to-business and business-to-consumer marketing, and an intellectual curiosity for the overall business landscape and trends both locally and globally.

 

 

JOB DUTIES

  • Aggressively prospect local, regional, and national brands for new revenue opportunities
  • Secure prospect meetings that result in comprehensive needs analyses to gain further understanding of the prospects’ goals and objectives

  • Write and prepare effective proposals utilizing all available assets that target prospects needs

  • Negotiate and finalize the contract process

 

5%

  • Maintain and report weekly sales/prospecting activity. Maintain accurate and thorough records of prospecting, revenue and inventory allocations, financials and client activity in department CRM and inventory management database

 

15%

  • Work with the Partnership Activation team to:
    • Provide unparalleled customer service
    • Fulfill all contract details
    • Manage expenses and profitability

 

10%

  • Provide input with the creation, development and enhancement of sponsorship inventory, sales collateral and other materials. Participate in the development of budget and goals, business plans, etc. as requested.

 

5%

  • Work with other departments on the Denver Broncos and Stadium Management Company to ensure the goals and expectations of partners are met, including: Ticket Operations, Marketing, Broadcasting, Stadium Operations, and Finance. Develop, maintain and increase corporate partner participation and integration in team’s Marketing programs and initiatives, as well as identify other ways in which partners may be able to enhance or improve other aspects of team operations.

 

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    • Minimum 7 years of corporate or enterprise business to business sales experience
    • Demonstrated experience in securing multi-year, six figure annual investments

     

  • Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
    • Preference toward sponsorship sales experience with a major sports property
    • Demonstrated ability to connect with C-level business decision makers in formal and informal settings
    • Demonstrated ability to originate and cultivate new business relationships
    • Track record of consistent production within an existing sales team environment
    • Previous CRM and Inventory Management experience (STR, KORE, Salesforce, etc.)
    • Strong work ethic with an innate sense of urgency, creativity and tenacity
    • Self-motivated with passion for sales, listening and relationship building
    • Quality presentation skills
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Excellent organization and time management skills
    • Reliable, diligent, self-motivated and dedicated
    • Ability to think analytically and problem solve
    • Ability to work all home Broncos games, select Broncos away games and other NFL events and nights/weekends as needed.
