SUMMARY
The Augusta Lynx Hockey Club will begin play for the ECHL’s 2027-2028 season. A 36-game home schedule will take place at the new Augusta Arena, a state-of-the-art, 10,500-seat venue currently under construction in downtown Augusta, GA.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The President of the Augusta Lynx will serve as the organization’s executive leader, responsible for shaping the strategic vision, driving long-term growth, and ensuring excellence across all business functions. This role oversees every aspect of the franchise, with an emphasis on revenue. Working with Zawyer Sports on team operations, community engagement, and organizational culture. The President represents the team publicly and works closely with C-Suite Executives from Zawyer Sports, partners, and the community to elevate the franchise.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with the development and execution of the long-term strategic plan of the organization
- Oversee the integration of business operations and fan engagement
- Drive innovation across all departments to keep the franchise competitive and forward-thinking
- Lead all revenue verticals including ticketing, partnerships/sponsorships, premium sales
- Develop and expand corporate partnerships locally, regionally and nationally
- Collaborate with C-Suite on management to ensure sustainable growth
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including sponsors, broadcast partners, vendors and civic leaders
- Ensure alignment between business and team operations
- Serve as the public face of the franchise in media appearances, fan events and community initiatives
- Champion community programs, youth development efforts and outreach initiatives that reinforce the team’s mission and values
- Support charitable partnerships and the team foundation
- Build a high-performing, mission-driven organizational culture rooted in teamwork, accountability and innovation
- Help recruit, develop, and mentor leadership and all employees
- Ensure strong internal communication and cross-departmental collaboration
- Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging throughout the organization
REQUIREMENTS
- 6+ years of senior leadership experience in professional or developmental sports, live entertainment, or related industries
- Proven track record in revenue generation, business development, and organizational leadership
- Strong understanding of sports operations, fan engagement, and market dynamics
- Outstanding communication, relationship-building, and public speaking skills
- Demonstrated commitment to community involvement and civic partnership
- Ability to lead with vision, integrity and a passion for competitive excellence
